funds for the maintaining of the public library of said City during said fiscal year and for deposit in the Library Fund of said City, and the special tax rate therefor is hereby levied and fixed at $0.2417 on each One Hundred Dollars of the assessed value of all taxable property within the territorial limits of the City of Redwood City as said limits existed on March 1, 1978. (c) Eight Hundred Forty-one Thousand Six Hundred Twenty-six Dollars ($841,626) as a special levy for the special purpose of providing funds for the City's contribution and obligation to the retirement plan voted in the municipal election of April 9, 1940, and for deposit in the Retirement Fund of said City, and the special tax rate therefor is hereby levied and fixed at $0.2878 on each One Hundred Dollars of the assessed value of all taxable property within the territorial limits of the City of Redwood City as said limits existed on March 1, 1978. SECTION 3. REPEAL. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted said ordinance and each section, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that anyone or more section, sentence, clause or phrase be declared invalid. SECTION 5. TRANSMITTAL TO COUNTY. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit certified copies of this ordinance to the Auditor of the County of San Mateo in accordance with Section 51551 of the Government Code and to such other County officials as may find it convenient or necessary to utilize this ordinance. -2- ~'_.
