<br /> "DIVISION 3. STANDARDS FOR WELLS <br />"Section 13.100. General Standards. Water wells <br />shall be constructed, repaired, destroyed, and converted <br />in accordance with the standards set by this Article and <br />by state law, including those contained in the most recent <br />Water Resources Bulletin #74 issued in February 1968 by <br />the California State Department of Water Resources. <br />"Section l3.l0l. Application of Standards to Wells <br />Proposed to be Constructed or Converted. All wells pro- <br />posed to be constructed for or converted to domestic water <br />use shall conform with the standards prescribed by this <br />Article and by state law except as the Health Officer shall <br />otherwise authorize in writing. <br />"Section 13.102. Application of Standards to Existing <br />Wells. All existing domestic water wells shall conform <br />with the standards prescribed by this Article and by state <br />law for constuction, protection from flooding, and ex- <br />clusion of contamination; provided that the Health Officer <br />may authorize alternative standards for individual cases <br />where he finds it impractical to cause an existing well <br />to meet the standards prescribed by this Article and by <br />state law and where such alternative standards substantially <br />accomplish the purpose of those prescribed by this <br />Article and by state law. <br />"Section 13.103. Water Well Slabs. All domestic <br />water wells shall be provided with a watertight reinforced <br />concrete slab of a minimum thickness of six (6 ) inches <br />and shall extend horizontally at least two (2 ) feet from <br />the well casing in all directions.
