ORIGINAL <br />FUNDING AGREEMENT <br />Between <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT <br />and <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />for the <br />GRAND BOULEVARD INITIATIVE: <br />CREATING SAFE AND HEALTHY CORRIDOR COMMUNITIES PROJECT <br />This Funding Agreement ("AGREEMENT"), effective thea day of , 200is <br />entered into by and between the San Mateo County Transit District ("DIS ICT") and <br />the City of Redwood City ("CITY"), together referred to herein as the 'PARTIES." <br />WHEREAS, the Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant ("GRANT") Program <br />was established by the California Department of Transportation ("CALTRANS") for a <br />wide range of transportation planning purposes that address local, regional, and <br />interregional transportation needs and issues; and <br />WHEREAS, the DISTRICT applied to CALTRANS for funding under the <br />GRANT Program to implement the Grand Boulevard Initiative: Creating Safe and <br />Healthy Corridor Communities Project ("PROJECT"); and <br />WHEREAS, the PROJECT includes the completion of two case studies to <br />facilitate the design of multimodal streetscape improvements, in Redwood City and Palo <br />Alto, and will result in a final report detailing the case study design and community <br />outreach results, as further set forth in Attachment A ("SCOPE OF WORK"); and <br />WHEREAS, CALTRANS awarded $349,074 in Federal Transit Administration <br />Section 5304 funds and State Highway Account funds to the DISTRICT for the <br />PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, the CITY has secured and will provide $22,613 in local matching <br />funds for the PROJECT; and <br />WHEREAS, the DISTRICT and the CITY desire to enter into the following <br />formal contract to memorialize the terms governing funding for implementation of the <br />PROJECT. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the DISTRICT and the CITY <br />agree to the following: <br />I. PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this AGREEMENT is to memorialize the understanding between the <br />DISTRICT and the CITY pursuant to which the CITY will provide up to $22,613, <br />equating to half the total amount of local matching funds for the GRANT, to facilitate the <br />REV: 05-22.17 JS <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />ATTY/AGR.2017.1131MOU with SarnTrans for Caltrans Planning Grant <br />
