SUHSD seeks funding from Redwood City 2020 to partially fund the Director position at Sequoia High School's Teen Resource Center for the 2016-2017 school year in the amount of $50,506.00. The Sequoia Teen Resource Center provides information and presentations to facilitate students in learning where and how to access resources at school and community; improving their academic performance, behavior and decision making; developing communication and leadership skills; and learning new coping skills and practices to improve their physical, social and emotional health. 1. Term. Unless earlier terminated, the term of this Agreement is for the 2016- 2017 school year at SUHHD. 2. Services. SUHSD shall provide the Services listed below ("Services") in consideration for receiving grant funding. SUHSD will employ one Director of Sequoia High School's Sequoia Teen Resource Center ("STRC") for the 2016-17 school year. The Director shall carry out the following responsibilities: 1) Provide leadership to STRC's operations. 2) Coordinate and integrate student support services with the school's academic and extracurricular programs. 3) Expand collaborative partners and raise additional resources to support the ongoing success of the Center. 4) Assist with the design and implementation of outcome evaluation efforts to track the impact of the STRC. The Director shall also perform the following tasks: • Provide leadership and oversee the operations of the Sequoia Teen Resource Center • Coordinate and manage the development and implementation of community school-based mental health, social and youth development services that enhance the health and safety of children and families and improve educational outcomes of students • Monitor the STRC budget and provide fiscal management • Oversee, supervise, and manage staff, volunteers, and interns • Develop and foster supportive governance structure that Includes public and community based organizations, school staff, and youth • Manage program communications in response to changing needs • Research and act on funding opportunities, including grant proposal REV: 05.25.17 RL Page 2 of 5 ATTY/AGR.2017.125/SUHSD Sequoia Teen Resource Center Director
