It is important to <br />note that where fees vary greatly for the same type of space depending upon location, <br />the project team has chosen to provide the range of rental rates. For the majority of the fees the City is comparable to its neighboring <br />jurisdiction. It is important to note that almost all other jurisdictions surveyed had <br />separate fee categories based on different criteria such as, resident, non-resident, <br />profit, non-profit, commercial, per event, etc. Redwood City also has similar types of <br />fees. A visual comparison of these rates is shown in the attachment. <br />4. ANNUAL REVENUE IMPACT <br />The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department based on facility <br />and park rentals is maintaining a cost recovery level of 114%. The following table shows <br />by center / park, the total number of hours for which it was rented, the revenue at <br />current fee, the total annual cost, and the annual surplus / (deficit). It is important to note <br />that we did not break out the rentals by the room in which they were rented or the <br />whether it was just a picnic area or a picnic and a bounce house area. The rate for <br />revenue at current fee utilized was the lowest resident rate. <br />7.A. - Page 42
