Item No. 6 (continued) <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />Councilman Murray presented the report on regulating use of assault weapons. <br />The following citizens spoke in opposition to regulation of assault weapons: <br />Victor M. Holbrook, 28 Diller Street, Redwood City <br />John Tozzini, Myrtle Street, Redwood City <br />M /S: Claire /Buchan to request staff to prepare ordinance prohibiting <br />sale /possession of "assault weapons ". <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 89 -23 <br />4. Presentation by County of report re Hazardous Waste <br />(Tanner Bill) (1003 -04) <br />Report: San Mateo County Hazardous Waste Management Plan January 1989 <br />George Bergman, San Mateo County Planning Department and Delores Lutter, San <br />Mateo Health Department presented the plan using graphs and slides. <br />Kathleen Mahany, 1026 Vera, Redwood City, representing the League of Women <br />Voters spoke in favor of the plan. <br />In response to Council questions Mr. Bergman described factors involved in <br />singling out Redwood City for highest cost participation and highest <br />"suitability for hazardous waste treatment, transfer and storage, or <br />recycling facilities, including incinerators." <br />Council requested staff to prepare recommendations regarding the plan and <br />bring to Council within 30 days; and to describe impact of this plan on <br />Redwood City General Plan to offer recommendations regarding the "fair <br />share" concept as expressed in the County Hazardous Waste Plan. <br />MEMO 2/14/89 <br />Council recessed from 9:17 p.m. to 9:25 p.m. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a.
