Richard White <br />1st United Methodist Church <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Interview Session 3/13/89 <br />Regular Meeting 3/13/89 <br />M /S: Murray /LaBerge to approve the Subject Minutes as submitted, Councilmembers <br />Claire and Stangel abstained. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY AND PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />1. Ban on assault weapons in Redwood City <br />City Attorney Schricker described SB292 relating to weapons introduced by <br />Senator Roberti, AB357 relating to firearms introduced by Assemblyman <br />Roos and the state legislative process. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the desire to proceed with an ordinance banning <br />assault weapons in Redwood city and the merits of waiting for federal and /or <br />state legislation which would preempt local jurisdiction. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />3/20/89 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 48 <br />Page No. 330 <br />
