MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST
a. Councilman Bury reminded everyone of the Saturday morning April 8th cleanup.
Meet at Redwood Shores pavilion at 8:30 a.m.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
None
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
CITY MANAGER REPORTS
4. Sequoia High School Parking report and
recommendations
Report: Community Development Director 3/14/89
City Engineer Curt Luck, presented slides showing proposed permit parking
areas. In response to suggestions from Council regarding visitors to
churches or funeral homes in the designated area, City Engineer Luck agreed
to pursue policy of permits for visitors.
Jim Centis 303 Fulton, Redwood City described the problem in the area as a
parking and congestion problem, not a traffic -flow problem. Buses that do
not provide transportation to Sequoia students clog the streets, and the
corporation yard area used by the buses prevents Sequoia students and
employees from parking in that area and forces them to use neighborhood
streets. Mr. Centis urged the city to "request the School District and the
County to allow utilization of a portion of the County Corporation Yard at
752 Chestnut Street" (a proposal of the Sequoia High School Parking Task
Force of November 28, 1988.)
Title read.
M /S: Murray /Bury
a.
