ORIGINAL <br />HEARING OFFICER AGREEMENT WITH <br />CAROL KORADE <br />FOR HEARING OFFICER SERVICES <br />THIS HEARING OFFICER AGREEMENT FOR HEARING OFFICER SERVICES <br />("Agreement") is entered into on this oday of '1&)6' 2017 ("EFFECTIVE <br />DATE") by and between the City of Redwood City ("CITY"), and Carol Korade, a sole proprietor <br />("CONSULTANT"), with reference to the following facts and intentions: <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the CITY adopted a Docktown Plan on December 12, 2016 ("Docktown <br />Plan") which provides a relocation assistance program to assist individuals residing at Docktown <br />Marina in the CITY with relocation from Docktown Marina; and <br />WHEREAS, the Docktown Plan provides for an appeal process whereby individuals may <br />appeal the CITY's issuance of a Relocation Assistance Eligiblity/Ineligibility Determination <br />("Appeals"); and <br />WHEREAS, CITY requires the assistance of a hearing officer with expertise in <br />administering and conducting administrative appeal hearings and the ability to assist CITY in <br />handling other matters that may rise out of or be related to the administration thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, CONSULTANT hereby warrants to CITY that CONSULTANT is skilled <br />and able to provide such services described in this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY desires to retain CONSULTANT pursuant to this Agreement to <br />provide the services described in this Agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises, covenants, and <br />agreements subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, the parties agree as follows: <br />AGREEMENT <br />SCOPE OF WORK. CONSULTANT shall act as the CITY's hearing officer responsible <br />for timely conducting hearings on Appeals.
