06/26/2017 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15607 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY (1) AMENDING THE CITY'S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY <br />PLAN TO RECLASSIFY THE GIS COORDINATOR TO GIS MANAGER, <br />TO INCREASE SALARY RANGES FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT <br />POSITIONS, AND TO UPDATE THE SALARY RANGES FOR CASUAL <br />AND CONTRACT EMPLOYEES, AND (2) AMENDING THE EXECUTIVE <br />MANAGEMENT SUMMARY OF BENEFITS TO PROVIDE FOR <br />REDUCED COST-SHARING CONTRIBUTION FOR MISCELLANEOUS <br />EMPLOYEES IN THE TIER 1 AND 2 PENSION PLANS <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Council wishes to reduce pension cost-sharing <br />contributions for miscellaneous employees in Executive Management positions in <br />pension Tiers 1 and 2 to maintain a competitive salary and benefit package, and such <br />reduction shall be in lieu of further cost -of -living adjustments as granted to other employee <br />groups; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Council wishes to approve a cost -of -living <br />adjustment in the amount of one percent (1%) for Executive Management positions and <br />additional increases for equity and internal alignment as listed in Exhibit B; and <br />WHEREAS, Human Resources staff conducted a salary and classification study <br />and reached a tentative agreement with the Redwood City Management Employees <br />Association on the recommended reclassification of the GIS Coordinator to GIS Manager <br />and a recommended salary range for the GIS Manager position; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommended salary plan updates for casual and contract <br />employees in order to maintain appropriate alignment with regular City classifications and <br />competitive compensation within the City's external labor market. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2. The City's Classification and Salary Plan shall be amended to abolish and <br />replace the classification of GIS Coordinator with the GIS Manager classification, as listed <br />ATTY/RESO.0062/CC RESO AMENDING SALARY PLAN & EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF BENEFITS RESO.
