Stangel 1040 Middlefield Road <br />Immediately following the <br />regular Council Meeting <br />CITY COUNCIL /PLANNING COMMISSION <br />JOINT STUDY SESSION - GENERAL PLAN <br />CALL TO ORDER - 7:34 p.m., Mayor Greenalch <br />Councilmembers present: Buchan, Bury, Claire, LaBerge, Murray and Mayor <br />Greenalch <br />Councilmembers absent: Stangel <br />Planning Commissioners present: Asmus, Audsley, Quirk and Chairman Nobles <br />Planning Commissioners absent: Ladd, Evans and Sanfilipo <br />Officials and staff present: Smith, Schricker, Jorgenson and Jean, Pawloski, <br />Sennewald, Patterson, Church and Luck <br />GENERAL <br />I. Review and discussion of General Plan Elements <br />A. Planning Director Joel Patterson presented Decisions 2000, the <br />General Plan as the Constitution of the City, including the following <br />elements: <br />1) Circulation Goal - Manage and improve the transportation system for <br />optimal use by public transit, automobiles, bicycles and <br />pedestrians. <br />2) Open Space Goal - Reserve open space areas within the urban complex <br />to enhance the value of other lands and the quality of life in the <br />community. <br />3) Conservation Goal - Orchestrate lead roles in environmental <br />preservation, air and water quality, wildlife protection, resource <br />recovery and cultural enrichment in concert with economic <br />development. <br />4) Noise Goal - Establish maximum tolerable limits for point noise <br />sources and ambient noise levels. <br />Study.Session MINUTE BOOK NO. 49 <br />6/12/89 Page No. 13 <br />
