5) Safety Goal - Verify the safety of all buildings and other facilities <br />in the City against seismic and other hazards. <br />6) Land Use Goal - Integrate a range of land uses to ensure that Redwood <br />City is a desirable place to live. <br />7) Housing Goal - Assure a variety of housing types in all <br />neighborhoods, at costs affordable to households of very low income, <br />low income, moderate income, and above moderate income. <br />Elements of the General Strategic Plan are as follows: <br />1) Human Services Element - Create an environment which would maximize <br />the quality of life of the citizens of Redwood City. <br />2) Cultural Element - Improve available cultural facilities, strengthen <br />Redwood City arts and education programs, and provide appreciation of <br />and involvement in the creative arts. <br />3) Historic Element - Retain Redwood City's cultural, historic and <br />architectural heritage through the preservation and enhancement of <br />designated landmarks, districts and sites. <br />4) Economic Element - Determine the appropriate mix of land uses which <br />will provide a sound tax base and employment for residents without <br />requiring excessive financial support from the City while maintaining <br />the quality of life for people in Redwood City. (unadopted) <br />B. Discussion of the Circulation element ensued. <br />C.
