Item No. 3 (continued) <br />M /S: Claire /Buchan to uphold appeal, that the City, developer and Kentfield <br />Commons Homeowners Association work together to resolve the issue, and that <br />the City retain jurisdiction in this matter. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 89 -102 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />a. Jerry Rexroth, 1320 Madison Avenue, distributed materials documenting <br />traffic violations taking place in the 1300 block of Madison Avenue caused by <br />individuals being dropped off and picked up at Herkmer Pool. Mr. Rexroth <br />asked that the entrance to the pool be moved to the south side of the parking <br />lot to decrease the dangerous traffic and vandalism problems. <br />Mayor Greenalch advised he would contact Mr. Rexroth as soon as staff had <br />prepared report of the situation. <br />MEMO 7/25/89 <br />b. Edward J. Voss, 1620 Connecticut Drive, representing the Woodside Terrace <br />A.M. Kiwanis Club, thanked Council and staff for permit for July 4th weekend <br />carnival which raised funds for the Emergency Hunger Project, Service League <br />and other organizations in Redwood City, and offered $1,000 for the Council <br />to use for Municipal purposes. Council advised Mr. Voss that they were <br />pleased with the carnival and the work done by the Ki wa ni s and thanked them <br />for their generous offer which would be used for municipal purposes. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Councilman Murray thanked Mayor Greenalch, Councilman Claire, Police Chief <br />Guardino and his staff for their participation at the Redwood Shores <br />Homeowners Association Meeting. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />4. Oral report from Personnel Committee on Health <br />Plans <br />Report: Personnel Committee to Mayor Greenalch and City Council 7/21/89 <br />The Personnel Committee of Councilmembers Buchan, Bury and Chairman Claire <br />and alternate Vice Mayor Georgi LaBerge presented their report to the Council <br />recommending that the PERS Health Plan be provided to all City employees and <br />retirees at an annual cost not to exceed $1,904,604.00 and with seven (7) <br />conditions enumerated in the subject report; stating PERS offers the <br />stability needed in today's market, although current rates are over the cap <br />in some instances, and PERS is expected to ask for a 30% increase in the near <br />future. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />7/24/89 <br />Page 3 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 49 <br />Page No. 46 <br />
