COROLLARY CONSUL TING <br /> In conjunction with the Sales Tax Inquiry System and STARS reports, <br /> MRC shall provide consulting services to include: <br /> Q Conducting technical seminars on California's local sales tax <br /> distribution process. <br /> Q Training staff in the fundamentals of sales/use tax allocation <br /> auditing, should the City desire to assume responsibility for <br /> future maintenance of local retail accounts internally. <br /> Q Preparing and analyzing a list of the City's major sales/use <br /> tax generators to assist the City in developing a public <br /> relations program to prevent the loss of these important <br /> businesses. <br /> Q Profiling for Economic Development/Community <br /> Redevelopment personnel the most economically <br /> desirable/undesirable types of developments/business uses <br /> and the reasons why. <br /> 0 Assisting in defining specific geographic areas for which the <br /> City would have an interest in knowing the sales/use tax <br /> produced (e.g., within Redevelopment Agency project areas). <br /> 0 Serving as a resource to assist the City on an "as-needed" basis <br /> by providing legal and technical support on sales/use tax <br /> issues and questions regarding proposed legislation, <br /> estimated revenue on proposed projects, revenue-sharing <br /> negotiations, retail sales leakage, budget projections, etc. <br />D. TIMING <br /> MRC currently provides the City with the Sales Tax Inquiry System <br /> and STARS reports.
