<br />1. PURPOSE. The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the sole <br />purpose of providing assistance to and allowing the establishment of a Redwood <br />City 2000 Committee. This Committee exists for three major purposes: <br />A. To provide a forum wherein representatives of public entities can work <br /> together and with members of the private sector, business and the community <br /> at large to identify ways to improve the quality of life in Redwood City <br />B. To provide oversight to the work of four ongoing coalitions including: the <br /> South County Coalition for Substance Abuse; the Healthy Start Program at <br /> Taft School; the Violence Prevention Program and the Community <br /> Participation Program in the High School District. <br />C. Secure the participation of members of the community in the Redwood City <br /> 2000 effort. <br />2. TERM. This agreement shall be binding on the Parties upon execution <br />of this Agreement by all Parties. This agreement shall be effective October 1, 1995, <br />and shall continue in effect through June 30, 1996. <br />3. TERMINATION. Any party may withdraw from this Agreement by giving <br />the other Parties sixty (60) days YJl'itten notice. The rights and obligations of the <br />terminating party terminate sixty (60) days after notice is given. <br />4. STRUCTURE OF THE REDWOOD CITY 2000 COMMITTEE. <br /> A.
