<br /> ORIGINAL <br /> AGR£..EM..ENT <br />JOINT POWERS PURCHASING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY <br />This agreement, made entered into as of the first day of July, 1996, by <br />and between the Sequoia Union High School District, a political subdivision of <br />the State of California ("Sequoia District") and the City of Redwood City, a <br />municipal corporation of the State of California ("City"); <br /> WIT N E SSE T H: <br />WHEREAS, the parties hereto provide governmental services to residents <br />and taxpayers within the same general area in the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 5, Division 7, Title 1 of the Government Code (§ § <br />6500-6513), authorizes public agencies to enter into agreements for the joint <br />exercise of powers common to them; and <br />WHEREAS, Certain economies may be obtained by jointly providing for <br />the purchase of materials, equipment, supplies and services, including without <br />limitation, custodial services and equipment; <br />NOW THEREFORE; in consideration of the of the covenants and <br />agreements herein contained, the parties agree as follows: <br />1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this agreement is to provide for the <br />joint exercise of the power of the parties to purchase materials, equipment, <br />supplies and services, including, by way of example and not as a limitation, <br />custodial services and equipment, and office supplies. <br /> ~ <br /> .___<H. <br />
