<br />2. TERM. The term of this agreement is Two (2) years, commencing <br />July 1, 1996; provided, that the Term may be extended and renewed for an <br />additional Three (3) years upon the same terms and conditions, approved by <br />motion duly made and carried by the governing bodies of City and Sequoia <br />District, respectively. <br />3. PURCHASES. Sequoia District, at City's express request, shall <br />exercise, in Sequoia District's name only, all powers given to it by law to <br />purchase materials, equipment, or supplies and services, including, by way of <br />example and not as a limitation, office equipment and supplies and custodial <br />supplies and services, for and on behalf of City. Nothing contained herein shall <br />be construed or interpreted as an assignment by City to Sequoia District of the <br />exclusive right to purchase such materials or equipment or supplies and <br />services for City. <br />The parties acknowledge and agree that purchases by Sequoia Dis~rict <br />hereunder shall conform to the requirements of Redwood City Code Section <br />2.80, to wit: (i) such purchases shall be made under competitive bidding <br />requirements of Sequoia District substantially equivalent to those of City; (ii) such <br />purchases shall conform to City's specifications therefor; (iii) the estimated price <br />of any such purchase shall be lower that that estimated for such purchase if <br />made directly by City pursuant to the competitive bidding requirements of Article <br />VII, Chapter 2, of the Code of the City of Redwood City; and (iv) such estimated <br />price shall exceed $500.00. <br />4. REIMBURSEMENT.
