Keith Battista, 3010 Sterling Way, Redwood City, representing the Chamber of <br />Commerce and member of the Economic Development Commission noted the absence of <br />an economic element in draft of report and suggested copies of General Plan be <br />distributed to service clubs. <br />Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, Redwood City suggested General Plan document <br />needs to be tightened and brought together and discussed three issues: <br />circulation issue #F -6; San Mateo County Airport and open space. Mrs. Spangler <br />asked for information regarding the economic element. <br />City Manager Smith explained that economic issues and proposals were being <br />considered separately and had a different approval process. <br />Thetis Pappas, 587 Seahorse Lane, Redwood City stated she was discouraged and <br />disgusted that only the same few concerned citizens who normally attend <br />Council meetings are here tonight, and asked that more people be informed of <br />General Plan and receive copies of the Plan. <br />Carl Kriletch, 70 Foss Drive, Redwood City suggested more support from <br />builders for low cost housing. <br />Council, City Attorney and staff discussed the numerous steps taken by staff to <br />publish and promote the General Plan process, the study sessions and this <br />public hearing, and agreed to try harder and try new avenues of promotion to <br />motivate the public to attend and participate in this process.
