Mayor Greenalch and Councilman Bury, on behalf of the City Council, <br />congratulated the Redwood City Reds, read the proclamation and distributed the <br />Certificates of Recognition to the members of the Redwood City Reds: Manager <br />Bill Mitchell, Coach Al Meyers, founder Al Rollins, tournament All -Star Jim <br />Theisen, John Brand, Jim Candler, Pete Conley, Tom Fillipo, Warren Goodnow, <br />Larry Gotelli, Dave Jenkins, Bob Kiesman, Gary Petrini, Dean Prince, John <br />Serna, Joe Serna, and Mike Vigo. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />a. David Haussler, 155 Cerrito Avenue, Redwood City advised Council that Build, <br />Inc., contractor for the water storage reservoir No. 2 in Redwood Shores might <br />be violating the terms of its agreement with the City. Mayor Greenalch advised <br />Mr. Haussler that City staff is monitoring this project very closely. <br />b. Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, Redwood City publicly thanked Rudy Rohr for <br />the flags at Union Cemetery on Veterans Day, November 11, 1989. Mayor Greenalch <br />will write a letter to Mr. Rohr thanking him for his efforts in tribute to our <br />veterans. <br />MEMO 11/14/89 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />2a. Request for Council action on three issues regarding water service in the <br />ELH /Woodside /Canada College community area - September 21, 1989 letter from <br />Carole Henley, Emerald Lake Hills Homeowners Association (1204 -06) <br />Reports: Letter of 9/21/89 from Carole Henley, Emerald Lake Hills Assoc. <br />Community Development Director, 11/1/89 Information Only <br />City Attorney memo to Council, 11/9/89 <br />Carole Henley's 9/21/89 letter requested the following: <br />1. That a member of the ELH /Woodside /Canada College Community be present <br />during the meetings and negotiations for the sale of the "Hills" water <br />system to California Water Service. <br />2. That a member of the ELH /Woodside /Canada College Community be allowed to <br />review annually all of the accounts pertaining to the expenses and <br />revenues and any other accounts that pertain to the operation of the water <br />system that would be charged to the "Hills" accounts. <br />3. That a member of the ELH /Woodside /Canada College Community be given annual <br />plans for the water system maintenance and improvements for review prior <br />to adoption by the City Council in their annual budget approval session. <br />M /S: Stangel /Buchan to accept Items 2 and 3, and take no action on Item 1 of <br />Carole Henley's letter of 9/21/89. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote.
