EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />A. PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The City of Redwood City seeks to rehabilitate the two (2) sanitary sewer pump <br />stations located at the Redwood Shores Area namely: P.S. No. 18 and P.S. No. <br />20 in order to improve the reliability of the wastewater services. This project <br />involves the engineering and construction services by a qualified engineering <br />consulting firm. The Consultant will prepare the plans and specifications, cost <br />estimates, contract documents for bidding, provide bid support and construction <br />services and prepare the final as -built drawings for the Sanitary Sewer Pump <br />Station Improvement Project (P.S. No. 18 and P.S. No. 20). <br />B. SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS <br />The following are the detailed scope of improvements of the existing sanitary sewer <br />pump stations No. 18 and No. 20. Work shall include, but not be limited to: <br />1. Rehabilitate existing wet well surface with new suitable coating material. <br />Consultant to provide the City material alternatives and design considerations for <br />the new coating material(s). <br />2. Remove and replace existing submersible pumps with new suitable Flygt <br />submersible pumps or approved equal including pipe assembly and accessories. <br />Consultant to provide the City design considerations and calculations for the new <br />submersible pumps. <br />3. Remove and replace the existing pump shoes inside the wet well bottom (the <br />piece that connects to the bottom of the wet well that connects to the discharge <br />elbow). <br />4. Remove and replace existing wet well piping and hardware inside the wet well. <br />5. Remove and replace existing valve vaults with precast reinforced concrete box <br />structures for utility service complete with openings, inserts, floor drain and <br />hardware. <br />6. Remove and replace existing wet well hatch and grate with new Flygt Safehatch <br />Model "FLE" with safety grate. <br />7. Remove and replace blowers and vents for the wet well and valve vault with <br />Hartzell fans or approved equal. Consultant to provide the City design <br />considerations of the new blowers. <br />8. Remove and replace existing wet well guide rails. <br />9. Remove existing wet well ladder. <br />10. Remove and replace flow meter, couplings, adapters, pressure gauges, pipe <br />supports and other appurtenances. <br />11. Remove and replace existing sanitary sewer pump station's motor control center <br />and update all existing MCC equipment and cabinet with Tesco Motor Control <br />Center Unit or approved equal.
