<br /> ORIGINAL <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY - SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> TillS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this c:?/ , day of <br /> ~JØt) ,199 i , by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a <br /> - municipal corporation of the State of California (hereinafter referred to a "City") and the <br /> REDWOOD CITY - SAN MATEO COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br /> (hereinafter referred to as "Chamber"): <br /> WITNESSTH: <br /> WHEREAS, Chamber has requested City to provide moneys during the Fiscal Year <br /> July 1, 1998 - June 30, 1999 for the maintenance and improvement ofthe economy of the City of <br /> Redwood City by the general promotion and development of local industry and commerce in the <br /> City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, City has determined that the promotion and development of the <br /> industrial and commercial economy of the City of Redwood City is vital to the present and future <br /> well-being of all segments of the City of Redwood City, is in the public interest, and benefits the <br /> entire community; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed as follows: <br /> 1. Promotion and Economic Develooment <br /> (a) City shall pay Chamber Thirty Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br /> ($37,500.00) during the period July 1, 1998 and June 30, 1999. <br /> (b) Chamber agrees to expend all moneys received from City pursuant to subparagraph <br /> (a) for the sole and exclusive purpose of maintaining and expanding the economy of <br /> the City of Redwood City and increasing the prosperity and well-being of all <br /> segments of the community by operation Civic/Community Promotion and <br /> Economic Development programs; and further agrees that none of the .moneys <br /> received from City pursuant to subparagraph (a) will be used to send newsletters, or <br /> . <br /> .' .' _.,.........-..._.,..._...,......--.~ <br />
