<br />Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
<br />1. Pursuant to Section 504 (Public Law 93-112), the Contractor agrees that no otherwise qualified
<br /> handicapped individual shall, solely by reason of a handicap, be excluded from the participation
<br /> in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in the performance of this con-
<br /> tract.
<br />2. Compliance of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, requires that all
<br /> benefits, aids and services are made available to handicapped persons on an equivalent basis with
<br /> those received by non-handicapped persons. Contractor shall agree to be in compliance with
<br /> Section 504 requirements by 1) signing the Letter of Assurance, attached and incorporated herein
<br /> as Exhibit C, QI: 2) by developing a plan for compliance to be submitted to the Section 504
<br /> Coordinator, Department of Health Services, as soon as possible but not later than by the end
<br /> of the current Fiscal Year.
<br />Affirmative Action.
<br />Contractor certifies that it is in compliance with the Equal Employment OpportUnity Requirements of
<br />Executive Order No. 11246, as amended by Executive Order No. 1375, Title VII of the Civil Rights
<br />Act of 1964, the California Fair Employment Practices Act and any other federal or state laws pertaining
<br />to equal employment opportunity, and that it will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for
<br />employment on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sexual preference, ancestry, sex, age,
<br />physical or mental handicap, marital status, sexual preference, or political affiliation in matters
<br />pertaining to recruitment, hiring, training, upgrading, transfer, compensation or termination.
<br />Fair Employment Practices
<br />1. In the performance of this contract, the Contractor agrees to not discriminate against any
<br /> employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, ancestry, sex, age,
<br /> national origin, physical or mental handicap, sexual preference, marital status, or political
<br /> affiliation. The Contractor agrees to take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are
<br /> employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race,
<br /> color, religion, ancestry, sex, age, national origin, physical or mental handicap, marital status,
<br /> sexual preference or political affiliation. Such action shall include, but not limited to, the
<br /> following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising;
<br /> layoff or termination; rates of payor other forms of compensation; and selection for training,
<br /> including apprenticeship. The Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to
<br /> employees and applicants for employment notices to be provided by the San Mateo County
<br /> Human Services Agency setting forth the provisions of this Fair Employment Practices section.
