<br />6. Non-Discrimination
<br />. Contractor shall comply with the non-discrimination requirements described below:
<br />A. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
<br />(1) Pursuant to Section 514 (Public Law 93-112), the Contractor agrees that no otherwise
<br />qualified handicapped individual shall, solely by reason of a handicap, be excluded from the
<br />participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in the performance of this
<br />contract.
<br />(2) Compliance of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, requires
<br />that all benefits, aids and services are made available to handicapped persons on an equivalent
<br />basis with those received by non-handicapped persons. Contractor shall agree to be in
<br />compliance with Section 504 requirements by 1) signing the Letter of Assurance, attached and
<br />incorporated herein as Exhibit C, QI 2) by developing a plan for compliance to be submitted to
<br />the Section 504 Coordinator, Department of Health Services, as soon as possible but not later
<br />than by the end of the current Fiscal Year.

<br />B. Affirmative Action. Contractor certifies that it is in compliance with the Equal
<br />Employment Opportunity Requirements of Executive Order No 11246, as amended by Executive
<br />Order No 1375, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the California Fair Employment Practices
<br />Act and any other federal or state laws pertaining to equal employment opportunity, and that it will
<br />not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, religion,
<br />color, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental handicap, marital status, sexual
<br />preference, or political affiliation in matters pertaining to hiring, training, upgrading, transfers,
<br />compensation or termination.
<br />C. Fair Employment Practices
<br />(1) In the performance of this contract, the Contractor agrees to not discriminate against
<br />any employee or applicant for employment because of race, religion, color, national origin,
<br />ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental handicap, marital status, sexual preference, or political
<br />affiliation. The contractor agrees to take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are
<br />employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race,
<br />religion, color; national origin, ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental handicap, marital status,
<br />sexual preference, or political affiliation. Such action shall include, but not be limited to the
<br />following: employment, upgrading, demotion or transfers; recruitment or recruitment advertising;
<br />layoff or termination;· rates of payor other forms of compensation; and selection for training,
<br />including apprenticeship. The Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to
<br />employees and applicants for employment, notices to be provided by the San Mateo County
<br />Buman Services Agency setting forth the provisions of this Fair Employment Practices section.
