<br /> Exhibit A (cont.) <br /> Community Coordination: Program staffwill continue to be involved with the N~twork <br /> of Core Service Center, The Hunger and Homeless Action Coalition, and will be attempting <br /> to establish a Redwood City Emergency Services Provider meeting. <br /> Outreach, Marketing and Publicity: The program is advertised on a quarterly basis in the <br /> Citywide newsletter which is sent to all Redwood City residences. Monthly reports are <br /> submitted and reviewed by the Department Head, Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory <br /> Board, and the City Parks and Recreation Commission. The primary means of outreach and \ <br /> publicity for the program has been and will continue to be word of mouth. <br />IV. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE SERVICE ENVIRONMENTS <br /> Clients Served: The program serves low income residents, 90% of which are between the <br /> ages 22 and 54, 70% non-white and predominantly low income. Over 50% of these clients <br /> are Hispanic, with most of this group being very limited in the ability to speak English. <br /> Translation and forms assistance and emergency food, clothing and lodging are the most <br /> requested services by clients of the program. <br /> Contract Services Staff: Two and one-half, full-time equivalent employees are allocated to <br /> this program: <br /> Human Service Specialist I (1.5 FTE) <br /> Human Service Specialist III (1.0 FTE) <br /> Volunteers: Currently three volunteers are donating 4-8 hours per week to assist clients in <br /> completing forms and doing translations. <br /> Advisory Groups: The Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory Board is made up of seven <br /> (7) members; five of which must reside in the target area, one which represents an agency <br /> housed in the Center and one that represents the community at large. The Board meets the <br /> 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center. They advise the Center <br /> Coordinator on all phases of the Center's operation. <br /> Board of Directors: The City Council of the City of Redwood City acts as the Board of <br /> Directors. <br />V. OTHER CONTRACTOR RESPONSmILITIES <br /> A The contractor will provide a system through which recipients of service shall have the <br /> opportunity to express and have considered their views, grievances, and complaints <br /> regarding the delivery of services. <br /> B. The contractor agrees to keep the San Mateo County Human Services Agency informed <br /> about its services and activities under this contract, and to accept appropriately referred <br /> clients from the San Mateo County Human Services Agency for its contract services as <br /> part of its client base. <br />A:\10FOCC.AGT Page 12 <br />
