Community Coordination: Program staffwill continue to be involved with the N~twork of Core Service Center, The Hunger and Homeless Action Coalition, and will be attempting to establish a Redwood City Emergency Services Provider meeting. Outreach, Marketing and Publicity: The program is advertised on a quarterly basis in the Citywide newsletter which is sent to all Redwood City residences. Monthly reports are submitted and reviewed by the Department Head, Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory Board, and the City Parks and Recreation Commission. The primary means of outreach and \ publicity for the program has been and will continue to be word of mouth. IV. DESCRIPTIONS OF THE SERVICE ENVIRONMENTS Clients Served: The program serves low income residents, 90% of which are between the ages 22 and 54, 70% non-white and predominantly low income. Over 50% of these clients are Hispanic, with most of this group being very limited in the ability to speak English. Translation and forms assistance and emergency food, clothing and lodging are the most requested services by clients of the program. Contract Services Staff: Two and one-half, full-time equivalent employees are allocated to this program: Human Service Specialist I (1.5 FTE) Human Service Specialist III (1.0 FTE) Volunteers: Currently three volunteers are donating 4-8 hours per week to assist clients in completing forms and doing translations. Advisory Groups: The Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory Board is made up of seven (7) members; five of which must reside in the target area, one which represents an agency housed in the Center and one that represents the community at large. The Board meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center. They advise the Center Coordinator on all phases of the Center's operation. Board of Directors: The City Council of the City of Redwood City acts as the Board of Directors. V. OTHER CONTRACTOR RESPONSmILITIES A The contractor will provide a system through which recipients of service shall have the opportunity to express and have considered their views, grievances, and complaints regarding the delivery of services. B. The contractor agrees to keep the San Mateo County Human Services Agency informed about its services and activities under this contract, and to accept appropriately referred clients from the San Mateo County Human Services Agency for its contract services as part of its client base.
