EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
US 101/SR 84 (WOODSIDE ROAD) INTERCHANGE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This document summarizes the scope of work for the preparation of Plans, Specification and
Estimates (PS&E) for the US 101/SR 84 (Woodside Road) Interchange Improvement Project
(Project) in the City of Redwood City, San Mateo County. The total length of the project is 2.3
miles and includes 1.9 miles along US 101 (from Post Mile 4.6 to 6.5) and 0.40 mile along SR
84 (from Post Mile 25.3 to 25.7).
Subject to the provisions of this Agreement, AECOM will develop the PS&E for the Project
consisting of the scope of work provided below. The development of the PS&E is a continuation
of the Project Approval & Environmental Document (PA&ED) phase of the project.
The Project is predominantly in State jurisdiction, as both US 101 and SR 84 are State-owned
facilities. As such, Caltrans will advertise, award, and administer the construction contract. The
bid documents will be developed to Caltrans' standards and requirements. They will also
incorporate City standards and specifications for City -owned facilities or facilities within City
jurisdiction.
AECOM will develop the PS&E for the Project and submit to Caltrans and the City in various
stages (65%, 95%, 100%, and Final) for review and input. Caltrans will provide Independent
Quality Assurance and will finalize the Bid Documents, with input from AECOM. AECOM is
ultimately responsible for the technical design. A separate landscape contract for facilities
within State jurisdiction will need to be prepared under a separate contract, according to Caltrans
policy. A landscape contract is proposed to be completed at a later date, as a follow-on to the
main construction contract.
2.0 GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK
AECOM, under this Agreement, will perform Design Services for the Project, including:
2.1 Project Elements to be Designed by AECOM include:
The scope of the construction package consists of project elements contained in the approved
Project Report (PR) dated December 2016 for the US 101/SR 84 (Woodside Road) Interchange
Improvement (10I/Woodside) Project prepared by URS Corporation.
The purpose of the proposed Project is to alleviate peak -period congestion at the US
101/Woodside Road interchange; improve traffic operations within the Project limits and at the
local street intersections of Woodside Road with Veterans Boulevard, Broadway, Bay Road, and
Seaport Boulevard/Blomquist Street/East Bayshore Road; and improve bicycle and pedestrian
access across US 101. The scope of the construction package includes the following elements:
• Widen Woodside Road from four lanes (two eastbound and two westbound) to six lanes
(three in each direction) plus turn pockets.
REV: 07-18-17 PR
ATTY/AGR.2017.166/AECOM 101/84 PS&E
