EXHIBIT "A'
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The scope of services for Amendment No. 1 are described below.
Scope of Work
Consultant will complete the additional services described below, which are necessary
to complete field investigations supporting design of interchange improvements as part
of the PS&E and R/W Support Phase of the 101/84 (Woodside Road) Interchange
Improvement Project.
Task A: Additional Underground Utility Identification and Verification — Consultant's
base scope of work (Task 2.5 Utility Identification and Verification) included vacuum
potholing at 70 locations, including cold patch asphalt concrete surface restoration, and
electronic probing at 80 locations. Field investigations conducted to date, coordination
with City Engineering regarding surface restoration requirements, project design
development, and UPRR requirements related to work in its right of way, identified
additional work required to complete the intent of Task 2.5, accurate location of
potentially affected underground utilities.
These additional efforts, to be conducted by subcontractor BESS TESTLAB and
Consultant, includes: supplemental surface restoration (hot patch asphalt concrete,
concrete work and related traffic control not included in the base scope of work) for the
70 vacuum potholing locations in the base scope of work, electronic probing at 86
additional locations, and costs for a right of entry permit and supplemental insurance
coverage to conduct certain field work in the UPRR right of way. Consultant's base
scope of work excluded permit fees, and the insurance provisions in the Agreement did
not meet insurance coverage limits required by UPRR.
Deliverables will match those in the Original Scope of Services (Task 2.5).
Task B: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Investigation — Consultant's project research
and field investigations indicated the possibility of buried concrete obstructions at the
location on one of the proposed soil borings. Additional services outside Consultant's
base scope of work (Task 2.4 Geotechnical Investigation and Testing) are required.
Subcontractor BESS TESTLAB and Consultant will perform GPR investigation at this
location to determine, to the extent practicable, the approximate horizontal and vertical
locations of buried obstructions.
The data received from the GPR work will be documented for use by AECOM and
marked with water-based paint in pin flags or like markers.
Task C: Storm Drain Inlet (SDI) Cleaning — Consultant's field investigations revealed
that 21 storm drain inlets to be surveyed were clogged with sediment and debris, and
REV: 02-22-19 PR
ATTY/AGR.Amend No. 1/AECOM 101/84 PS&E
