Technology services provided by City IT include, but are not limited to, infrastructure
and desktop support, financial system programming and support, telephone support,
technology planning, and process improvements through technology.

Approving this agreement will allow the City’s IT Division to continue supporting the City
of Burlingame through FY 2017-18, generating approximately $590,000 of revenue for
the City.
ALTERNATIVES
The Council could elect to not approve the agreement and discontinue providing IT
services to the City of Burlingame. This is not advisable as both cities rely on a
continued relationship to provide and receive IT services, and the City’s FY 2017-18
Adopted Budget includes this revenue source.

FISCAL IMPACT
This agreement will generate approximately $590,000 in revenue during FY 2017-18.
The direct labor costs, including salary and benefits, to provide these services are
approximately $400,000. Additional charges of $190,000 cover administrative overhead,
indirect costs, and any necessary technology upgrades.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines Section 15378
because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably foreseeable
indirect physical change to the environment.

STAFF ORIGINATOR

KIMBRA MCCARTHY
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER – ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

MELISSA STEVENSON DIAZ
CITY MANAGER

ATTACHMENT
1.
