<br /> certification for Educational Incentive Pay during the period when <br /> no recertification programs are offered by the City. <br /> In order to be eligible for Educational Incentive Pay, employees who <br /> were hired after the offering ofthe initial EMT certification courses, <br /> and employees who were not certified during these initial courses, <br /> must obtain EMT certification during unpaid off-duty time. <br /> The City will allow an employee who has been on long-term <br /> disability or long-term illness leave of thirty (30) days or more, upon <br /> the employee's return to duty, to attend an EMT recertification <br /> program, if offered, at another San Mateo County fire agency while <br /> the employee is on paid duty time. <br /> Effective April 1, 1990, each employee who maintains Emergency <br /> Medical Training (EMT) certification will receive two and one-half <br /> percent (2-1/2%) additional base pay (salary). <br /> The Emergency Medical Training Incentive pay shall be considered <br /> wages for the purposes of computing overtime, holiday pay, and <br /> PERS retirement benefits. <br /> It is understood that in no case will the same employee receive both <br /> Educational Incentive pay (under MOU Section 7.13) and EMT <br /> Incentive pay (under MOU Section 7.13.1). <br /> It is also understood that in no case will the same employee receive <br /> more than a total of seven and one-half percent (7-112%) from <br /> Service Incentive pay (under MOU 7.12) and EMT Incentive pay <br /> (under MOU 7.13.1) combined. <br /> For purposes of receiving Educational incentive Pay, a current <br /> paramedic certificate will be deemed to meet the requirement of a <br /> current EMT certificate. <br />7.14 Uniform Allowance <br /> Employees of the Fire Department in the classifications of Fire Fighter or Fire <br /> Captain, who have employed for one (1) year or more with the City of Redwood <br /> City, shall be paid an annual uniform allowance of six hundred dollars <br /> ($600.00). This amount will be pro-rated for new hires. <br /> Within sixty (60) days of the adoption of this Memorandum of Understanding, <br /> all employees will be required to wear either wool pants, or one (1) style of <br /> black jeans which will be mutually agreed to between I.A.F.F. and the City. <br /> 16 <br />
