<br /> or remain the same, the City's total maximum combined <br /> contribution cap will not be changed. <br /> In the event the above listed amount plus the city payment towards <br /> medical insurance premiums, specified in 17.1.2 above, are <br /> insufficient to pay 100% of the premiums required of employees <br /> enrolled in anyone of the PERS medical insurance plans, the City <br /> shall make a payroll deduction from the employee's pay to cover the <br /> difference in cost. <br />19.1.7 The health plans offered shall be those ofthe California Public <br /> Employee's Retirement System (PERS). <br />19.1.8 For IAFF members employed by the City as of January 1, 1988, <br /> who have twenty (20) years of service and retire under the City's <br /> retirement plan, the maximum City contribution toward health plan <br /> coverage shall be equal to the percent or premium paid for a current <br /> employee, for the same plan. For IAFF members retired prior to <br /> January 1, 1988, the City shall pay the cost of health plans in <br /> accordance with the applicable MOU or City practice in effect at the <br /> time of retirement. <br />19.1.9 An employee employed by the City on January 1, 1988 or thereafter, <br /> who retires under the retirement plan provided by Redwood City <br /> and has twenty (20) years of service may continue to participate in <br /> one of the City's medical insurance plans at hislher own expense. In <br /> the event the employee should elect medical insurance under the <br /> PERS Health Plan, the City shall contribute on behalf of these <br /> employees a minimum of sixteen ($16.00) per month towards PERS <br /> medical insurance plans. <br />19.1.10 Effective January 1, 1999, for IAFF members employed by the City <br /> who have twenty (20) years of service and retire under the City's <br /> retirement plan, the maximum City contribution toward health plan <br /> coverage shall be equal to the percent or premium paid for a current <br /> employee, for the same plan. For IAFF members retired prior to <br /> January 1, 1988, the City shall pay the cost of health plans in <br /> accordance with the applicable MOU or City practice in effect at the <br /> time of retirement. <br />19.1.11 All costs incurred by the City to maintain the PERS Health Benefits <br /> Plan in compliance with Government Code Section 22751, et seq., <br /> and all costs incurred by the City to maintain the Cafeteria Plan in <br /> compliance with IRS Code Section 125, shall be paid from the <br /> aforementioned monthly dollar caps identified in Sections 19.1.4, <br /> 41 <br />
