ROCKETSHIP REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROJECT <br /> SEPTEMBER 2016 INITIAL STUDY/MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION <br /> • Policy BE-2.1:Create complete neighborhoods by integrating schools,parks,child care centers, <br /> community centers,infrastructure,green spaces and parks,and other public amenities into each <br /> neighborhood. <br /> The proposed project involves the renovation of an existing building and would avoid styles,colors, <br /> and materials that negatively impact the surrounding area and would therefore be consistent with <br /> General Plan Policy BE-1.5. The proposed project has been designed to blend in with the surrounding <br /> community and would also be consistent with General Plan Policy BE-1.8. In addition,the proposed <br /> project is consistent with General Plan Policy BE-2.1 because it would introduce a new elementary <br /> school to the neighborhood. <br /> Although the proposed project would require Conditional Use Permits to allow the school and <br /> playground uses,the proposed project would not substantially conflict with the intent of the City's <br /> General Plan,the County General Plan and applicable Redwood City and San Mateo County zoning <br /> regulations.
