Ted Hannig stated he was following up on the City Council's unanimous support of <br />Marina Shores and the editorial opinion in the San Mateo Times that also was in <br />support of the project as a means of smart growth and smart development. He stated <br />his point is to clarify misinformation of what might occur if Measure Q does not pass. <br />He stated that the most likely outcome of a "no vote" is that there will be "big box" <br />development on that property and the consequence would be that the City would not <br />have the benefits such as the negotiated recycled pipeline among other items <br />negotiated for and a part of the Marina Shores project. He stated that his belief is <br />that we would lose out on the low and moderate income housing, the bridge over <br />Blomquist and traffic system improvements. <br />5.1 Section — Motions <br />A. Approve the Joint City Council and Redevelopment Agency Meeting minutes of <br />October 11, 2004 as submitted; (301) MINUTE ORDER 04 -194 <br />B. Hiring of Lateral Police Officer above entry-level <br />Recommendation: <br />The City Council approve the hiring of Police Officer Ken Cochran at Step 5 <br />rather than entry level.
