SECTION 6. NO STRIKE <br />The Association, its members and representatives, agree that they will not engage in, <br />authorize, sanction, or support any strike, slowdown, stoppage of work, curtailment of <br />production, concerted refusal of overtime work, refusal to operate designated equipment <br />(provided such equipment is safe and sound) or to perform customary duties; and neither <br />the Association nor any representatives thereof shall engage in job action for the purpose <br />of effecting changes in the directives or decisions of management of the City, not to effect <br />a change of personnel or operations of management or of employees not covered by this <br />MOU. <br />SECTION 7. PAY <br />7.1 Pay Period <br />Employees shall be paid bi-weekly. <br />7.2 Salary Increases <br />7.2.1 Effective with the first full pay period on or after September 1, 2001, the <br />monthly salaries shall be increased by 4.52% with a monthly salary range <br />as follows: <br />Police Sergeant 5878 6171 6479 6805 7145 <br />7.2.2 Effective with the first full pay period beginning on or after September 1, <br />2001, salaries shall be calculated by comparing the total compensation <br />rates of Police Sergeants in Redwood City to the average total <br />compensation of Police Sergeants in the cities specified below: <br />Milpitas Mountain View <br />Palo Alto San Mateo <br />Santa Clara South San Francisco <br />Union City <br />Based on the Lieutenant formula, increase the level of the Sergeant base <br />salary by an amount of 5.2%. <br />The comparative calculation shall include top step base salary, employee <br />PERS payments, vacation, holiday and administrative leaves, educational <br />and longevity incentives, deferred compensation, and health and welfare <br />contributions. <br />
