ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING <br />TO SMOKING REGULATIONS (approved 6/6/88; see Minutes 5/16 and 6/6/88) <br />Annie Durschlaq, Annie's Coffee Shop at Ben Franklin, said it is impossible <br />to set aside a smoking area and divide seating at her 25 -seat counter, with <br />75% of her customers smoking. Mrs. Dursch 1 ag questioned the exemption for <br />bars and bingo games. <br />Steven Howard, M.D., 907 Katherine, family physician, commended Council for <br />i ntroduci ng the smoki ng regul ati ons, noti ng that the deaths attri but abl e to <br />smoking-related causes greatly exceeds that of deaths from such serious <br />diseases as AIDS.
