Award of contract - Street Tree Maintenance Project <br />1988 -89 ( 702 -02) <br />Report: Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director 7/18/88 <br />In response to question, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Griffiths said that same 17 contracts relating to street tree <br />maintenance services have been consolidated to reduce contract administration <br />and other costs, that a certified arbori st is required to be an employee of <br />the successful bidder and that previous contracts had required the services <br />of a certified arbori st. <br />James Cox, J. Cox tree and Landscaping Service, unsuccessful bidder, said he <br />has discussed the matter of award of contract with his attorney, Kevin <br />Kelley, and believes his is a responsive bid. Mr. Cox referred to his letter <br />of July 19, 1988 and to his sheet of comments distributed to Council this <br />eve ni ng. <br />In response to question, City Attorney Schri cker said the bid of J. Cox is <br />not responsive to the bid language as the requirement regarding the certified <br />wbori st i s a materi al requi rement. In further response to questi on, Mr. <br />Schri cker sai d that i f the bi d i s not awarded to Davey Tree Surgery Company <br />as recommended , t hen i t wo ul d be ne cess ary to rej ect al l bi ds and go out to <br />bid again. <br />Titl e read .
