Item No. 7 (continued)
7. Any additional conditions which the Council may impose to protect the
public health, safety, and general welfare.
Carried unanimously by voice vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -139
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
a. Andy Anderson, 1591 Regent Street, asked Council to consider adoption of an
ordinance to control party noise, stating that other cities have such
ordinances which impose the cost of police response to complaints on those
making party noise.
In response to question, Police Chief Guardino said that the City of Santa
Clara has such an ordinance and he has heard that it has been effective.
CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of Council that
staff be directed to look into the subject of a party noise ordinance and
submit a report on the subject to the Legislative Committee for review and
recommendation.
M EM 0 9/13/88
b. Larry Greathouse, 3627 Farm Hill Boulevard, inquired about the procedure for
curb cuts for recreation vehicles, noting that the City ordinance does not
provide for the kind of curb cut he requires.
CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of Council that
the City Manager be directed to look into the matter and report back to the
City Council at a regular Council meeting and that the City Clerk notify Mr.
Greathouse when the item will appear on the Agenda.
MEMO 9/ 13/ 88
C. Ralph Nobles, 3720 Country Club Drive, speaking as a representative of the
Redwood City Committee to Complete the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife
Refuge per HR 4272 (Edwards), noted that approval of the related map has been
a controversial part of the bill and reported that the citizens committee
working with Congressman Edwards is recommending removal of the map. Mr.
Nobles requested Council support for HR 4272 without the map.
CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of Council to
state that Council is already on record in support of the bill without the
map and that if there is a change in the bill, then Council will review the
matter at that time.
d. Mike Peavler, 725 Topaz, Coach and Manager of the Pony express Redwood City
Women's Softball team requested financial support for the team which will
compete in the national finals.
CONSENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of Council that
the item be placed on the City Council Agenda for September 19, 1988.
MEMO 9/13/88
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reg.Mtg.
9/12/88
Page 5 MINUTE BOOK NO. 48
Page No. 175
