Item No. 2 (continued) <br />M /S: Murray /Buchan to add to items in the motion related to duties (vii) <br />Alternate modes of transportation. - -- <br />The motion carried by majority voice vote determined to be 4 -1 <br />M /S: Murray /Buchan to add to items in the motion related to duties (viii) <br />Coordination with agencies outside of the City of Redwood City. <br />The motion failed by majority voice vote determined to be 2 -3. <br />M /S: Murray /Bury to change the name of the Traffic Committee to the Traffic <br />Advisory Committee. <br />The motion carried unanimously by majority voice vote determined to be 4 -1. <br />M /S: Bury /Murray to reduce the number of members of the Traffic Advisory <br />Committee to five. <br />Nita Spangler (see above) urged Council to keep seven Committee members and <br />suggested each Council member might make one appointment. <br />The motion failed by majority voice vote determined to be 4 -1. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -151 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br />4. Report re inquiry concerning sale of TEWCI building <br />(702-02) <br />Report: City Manager 9/28/88 <br />Mayor Greenalch ordered, there being no objection, that item 4. be considered <br />out of order at this time. <br />Carolyn Nobles, 3720 Country Club Drive, Chairperson of TEWCI Board, said the <br />building has not been placed on the market and that while they would like <br />Kainos to acquire it, they understand that the proposed purchase price is <br />substantially below the price previously agreed upon as the appraised value. <br />Bob Pierce, 750 Barbour Drive, Board member of Kainos, thanked Council for <br />support in the past and said Kainos could make good use of the TEWCI <br />Building, but cannot offer to purchase the property at the appraised value. <br />Kay Wiseman, 535 Central, Menlo Park, Kainos staff, said she is not aware of <br />any other financial resources which might be available to Kainos. <br />CONCENSUS: Mayor Greenalch determined it to be the consensus of Council that <br />the Mayor communicate to Kainos that the original arrangements with regard to <br />the TEWCI Building are still operational; that the Council regrets they are <br />unable to assist Kainos; and that the TEWCI Board will proceed according to <br />the original agreement.
