Matters of Council Interest (continued) <br />The motion carried by majority voice vote determined to be 6 -1 <br />Mayor Greenalch said he will turn over the petition and photographs to the <br />Traffic Advisory Committee. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -155 <br />5.1 Councilman Stangel reported that as Chairman of SamTrans, he has been <br />receiving awards on behalf of SamTrans, mentioning the Metropolitan <br />Transportation Commission Grand Award for the BART- SamTrans extension and <br />also the Public Transportation System Outstanding Achievement Award made in <br />Montreal. Councilman Stangel said that the San Mateo County Board of <br />Supervisors have also adopted a resolution on September 27, 1988 in <br />recognition of the receipt of these important awards by SamTrans. <br />5.2 Vice Mayor LaBerge reported attending a workshop on "Rediscovering Gold" <br />relating to strategies for arts and economic development in the areas of <br />tourism and retail revitalization. <br />5.3 Mayor Greenalch reported that City Manager Jim Smith has become a <br />grandfather. <br />5.4 Mayor Greenalch invited Assistant City Manager Jean to introduce his guest <br />from England.
