2. Presentation to Peter H. Griffiths, Director of <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10923 COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING PETER H. GRIFFITHS ON <br />RECEIVING THE CALIFORNIA PEACE OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR MERITORIOUS <br />SERVICE <br />Vice Mayor LaBerge presented a framed parchment copy of the resolution to <br />Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Griffiths and commended <br />him for his contribution to the community. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />3. Public Hearing - Appeal of the decision of the <br />Planning Commission to deny the application to amend <br />Planned Development Permit to construct a six -foot <br />fence with 18" setback where a 15 -foot setback is <br />required, 23 and 25 Colton Court - E.J. Polati and <br />Matthew Gomez, appellants (continued closed from <br />10/10/88) <br />City Manager Smith reported that all parties involved in the subject appeal <br />have met and have agreed to a five -foot setback. <br />M /S: Stangel /Murray to accept the recommendation of staff in the subject <br />appeal that a five -foot setback be permitted to be constructed where a <br />15 -foot setback is required at 23 and 25 Coulton Court. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -160 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS <br />There being no objection, Mayor Greenalch ordered that item 14. be considered out <br />of order at this time. <br />14. Petition from residents of 900 Block of 10th <br />Avenue regarding parking in Taft School area. <br />Fred Braswell, 906 10th Avenue, asked that the red curb be removed from the <br />front of Taft School, citing lack of parking in the area and the need for <br />safety of school children. <br />Margaret Lewis, 906 10th Avenue, concurred in the remarks of Mr. Braswell. <br />Tom Nance, 908 10th Avenue, concurred in the remarks of Mr. Braswell and <br />suggested stop signs might be placed in the neighborhood also. <br />M /S: Stangel /Bury to refer the petition from residents of the 900 Block of <br />10th Avenue regarding parking in the Taft School area to staff. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote.
