North Fair Oaks /East Redwood City Small Business <br />Development Program <br />Report: Community Development Director 10/11/88 <br />Housing Coordinator Jones - Thomas presented the subject report and in response <br />to questions said that she has met with the Chancellor of the Community <br />College District; that the organizations expected to be involved are those <br />with on -going activities in the County; that some of the funds would be used <br />for study of needs; that some funds would go to the college district to <br />develop training programs; that payments would be based on services; and that <br />a grocery store and a bank have been mentioned as needs in the Fair Oaks <br />area. <br />Susan Wilson, San Mateo County Housing and Community Development, said that a <br />study would be prepared, there would be an attempt to retain existing <br />businessmen and there would be an attempt to attract new business by <br />strengthening the ability of owners to be competitive, noting that the <br />program would take advantage of the knowledge of those already successful in <br />business in Fair Oaks. <br />M /S: LaBerge /Stangel to direct staff to work with County staff to develop a <br />proposal for a joint economic development program for North Fair Oaks and <br />East Redwood City, with any financial commitment from the City to come from <br />Community Development Block Grant funds. <br />Carried by majority voice vote determined to be 6 -1. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -165 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />M /S: Stangel /Claire to waive reading of the Consent Calendar, except the <br />ordinance titles, adopt the ordinances and all resolutions and approve other <br />items. <br />Carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />6. MOTION: to accept the improvements to Mid Peninsula Business Park, Parcel <br />Map 85 -5 Subdivision, authorize the release of bonds, subject to posting of <br />maintenance bond in the amount of $14,606.20.
