ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Tamara Puille, 960 Glennan Drive, Redwood City, advised Council she is disturbed <br />about the Senior Parking Patrol issuing so many tickets. Although the intent <br />is honorable, the message to downtown area would -be shoppers is, parking is <br />hard to find and tickets are easy to receive. <br />Mayor Greenalch advised that staff is monitoring this situation. <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - - - - -- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Councilwoman Buchan announced a meeting of the Redwood City Youth Drug <br />Coalition on December 13, 1988, 7:00 p.m. at the Fair Oaks School and invited <br />everyone to attend and support the efforts of the Coalition and the <br />parents. <br />b. Mayor Greenalch announced a memorial service for Zuma Francis after the <br />Council of Elders meeting which will begin at 12:45 p.m., Fair Oaks Senior <br />Center, on December 8, 1988. <br />c. Water and Sewer Service Connection Fee Increases <br />(1206 -02) <br />Report: General Services Director 11/16/88 <br />In response to questions from Council, General Services Director Sennewald <br />described comparison costs appearing in report and slide presentation and <br />additional City costs not included in contractors estimates. Council added that <br />most builders prefer fixed fees rather than time and materials and the overhead <br />rate and costs are in line with industry standards. Director Sennewald <br />described annual review of fees to prevent large percentage increases in the <br />future. <br />a. M /S: Bury /Laberge to set a Public Hearing for January 9, 1989, 7:30 p.m. or as <br />soon thereafter as possible, at 401 Marshall Street, Redwood City, to receive <br />testimony regarding water and sewer service connection fee increases <br />Carried unanimously by roll call vote.
