Matters of Council Interest (continued) <br />C. Mayor Greenalch reported on the December 8th meeting of the Council of Mayors <br />and the reappointment of Councilwoman LaBerge to the San Mateo County <br />Cultural Arts Commission and the appointment of Frank Canizzaro of Millbrae <br />as Chairman of the Council of Mayors and Dave Bomberg of Belmont Vice <br />Chairman. <br />d. Mayor Greenalch read a letter from Michele Fernandez, who is almost 12, <br />thanking the City and the Council for the wonderful new library. Mayor <br />Greenalch commended the work of City and library staff and the previous <br />Councils. <br />e. Councilman Murray reported on the action of the Regional Planning Committee <br />at the December 8th meeting. The RPC approved the recommendation for a study <br />on additional runways at San Francisco International Airport on a 17 -2 vote, <br />Redwood City voting "NO ". The RPC approved a solid waste plan that will now <br />go to the San Mateo County Supervisors for action, and recommended that <br />$920,000 of Urban Funds go to Chestnut Street improvements in Redwood City. <br />Councilman Murray commended Traffic Engineer Adam Gee for the excellent <br />background information he provided. <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />None <br />CITY MANAGER REPORTS <br />2. Lease of Police Youth Club Building, 1311 Madison <br />Avenue, to San Francisco Bay Alumni chapter of the <br />National Football League (702 -02) <br />Report: Parks, Recreation and Community Services 12/7/88 <br />Bruce Bosley, 246 W. Santa Inez, Hillsborough, President of the San Francisco <br />Bay Chapter of the NFL Alumni and former San Francisco 49er expressed his <br />thanks to the Council and the people of Redwood City for the use of this <br />building. <br />City Attorney Schricker cited Section 3 112 (c) of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City regarding the negotiation for this property. <br />M /S: Bury /Stangel to authorize City Manager and Director of Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services to enter into negotiations with the San <br />Francisco Bay Alumni Chapter of the National Football League for use of the <br />Police Youth Club Building <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 88 -194 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />3.
