Absent Trustee Beeger. <br />Trustee Hynding presented the following resolution and moved its adoption. <br />Resolution Adopted By The Board of Trustees of The Town of Redwood City. <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />prior to the 10th <br />day of May,1902,the Town <br />of Redwood CitY„waa.,,the owner of <br />_l <br />Ment with the <br />United Gas <br />and <br />Electric Company to <br />furnish electric energy with which <br />a municipal <br />electric lighting <br />system in said Town;. and <br />s <br />WHEREAS <br />on the 10th day of <br />May,1902,the said Town of <br />Redwood City entered into an. <br />agreement with <br />the Consolidated Light and Power Company <br />to light the streets of said Town <br />for a period <br />of one year, using <br />in said lighting the- said <br />municipal. electric lighting Sys- <br />tem of said <br />Town; and <br />WHEREAS, <br />on the 27th <br />day <br />of Aprll,19'03 ,the <br />Town of Redwood City entered into an <br />ag <br />Ment with the <br />United Gas <br />and <br />Electric Company to <br />furnish electric energy with which <br />to <br />light the streets of said Town for the period of five years from May the 10th,1903,using <br />for that: purpose said municipal electric lighting system of said Town,and,at the expira- <br />tion of said agreement, paid Vnited Gas and Electric Company to turn back and return to <br />said Town of Redwood City said municipal electric lighting system (in is good condition as <br />i when said municipal electric lighting system was taken over by saidc United Gas and Electri <br />Company on May the 10th,1903,for the purpose of lighting said streets; and <br />WHEREAS said contract with the United Gas and Electric Company expired on the 10th <br />day Of MaY,1908; and <br />} <br />WHEREAS, since the expiration of said contract and agreement on the 10th day of May, <br />1908,extensions of said agreement have been made up to and including the date of this <br />resolution; and <br />WHEREAS the Pacific Gas and Electric Company,a corporation duly organized and exist - <br />Ing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California,and the Town of Redwood <br />O1tY;a municipal corporation duly created and existing under and by virtue Of the laws Of <br />the State of Calif ornia,here tofore entered into and executed an agreement in writing bear <br />Ing date the 14th day of July.19099wherein and whereby the said Pacific Gas and Electric <br />Company,in lieu of turning back and returning to said Town certain parts of said munici- <br />Pal electric lighting system,agreed to construct upon the terms therein specified an else- <br />
