<br />opened and read by said Board in opdn session, and thereupon said right, privilege and
<br />franchise will be awarded to the highest bidder for cash; and that an open meeting of this
<br />Board of Trustees will be held on Monday, the 26th day of June 1911, at the hour of 8'
<br />o'clock P. M. at the Town Hall in Redwood CitY, 04lfornia, and in said County of San Mateo,,
<br />for the purpose of receiving, opening and reading bids for the said right, privilege and
<br />franchise, and awarding the same to the highest bidder therefor. And be it further re-
<br />solved that the successful bidder for such right, privilege and franchise shall within
<br />Five (5) days after said franchise shall have been awarded,file a bond running to said
<br />Town of Redwood City, with at least Two (2) good and sufficient sureties to be approved
<br />by this Board, in the penal sum of Five Hundred Dollars conditioned that -such bidder shall
<br />well and truly observe, fulfill and perform each and every term and condition of such fran-
<br />chise, and that in case of any breach of condition of such bond, the whole amount of the
<br />penal sum therein named shall be taken and be deemed to be liquidated damages, and shall be
<br />recoverable from the principal and sureties upon the said bond.
<br />And be it further resolved, that said notice to be published and advertised as afore-
<br />said, shall be in substantially the following form, and shall be caused to be published
<br />as hereinbefore provided by the Clerk of this Board.

<br />Notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of April, 1911, Edw. F. Fitzpatrick made
<br />written application to the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood Cit y,in.the County

<br />of San Mateo, state of California, .for the grant of a certain right, privilege and fran-

<br />chase upon the terms and conditions set forth in said written application, which same is

<br />hereby expressly referred to'for further particulars.

<br />That it is proposed by said Board of Trustees to grant said right, privilege and fran-.
<br />chise upon the terms and conditions set forth in said application, and upon such other

<br />terms and conditions as may be hereafter imposed and placed by said Board of Trustees.

<br />That the character of said right, privilege and franchise applied for as hereinbefore
<br />stated, is as follows, to -wit:_
<br />said DdSr. F.: Fitzpatrick in and by said application, asks for the . grant and Issuance
<br />of a franchise, right and -privilege to him, his assigns and successors, for the term of
<br />Fifty (50) years from and after the date of the granting of the same, to construct, OP-
<br />erate and maintain upon, over and across the atreets, roads, avenues and high -ways herein-
<br />after mentioned and described, a street rail -road to be operated by electricity_, gas, gaso-
<br />lene motors, horse power or any other means of propulsion that may be hereafter used as
<br />the motive power for the operation of street rail -roads, and to erect poles and wires along
<br />the said streets, roads, avenues and high -ways for transmitting electric power along and
<br />upon the said streets, roads, avenues and high -trays for the purposes of said street rail-
<br />road.
