Rice, was read by the 01erk: <br />Redwood City, Californla,July 28th,1911. <br />To the Hon. the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City Cala. <br />Gentlemen: - <br />Finding that I made an error in the bid Submitted for retaining wall <br />on Oo Road,and accepted by You,and knowing I can not complete same as per Plans .& speci- <br />fications with serious and heavy loss to myself, I would beg your Icon. Body to release <br />me from said obligation trusting that You can see your way clear to grant -the desired re— <br />quest and thanking You for any consideration that you can give me -I remain <br />Respectfully yours, <br />T. C. Rice. <br />Trustee Hynding, seconded by Trustee Brown, presented the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption. Motion carried by vote of all memebrs present. <br />Whereas the Board of Trusteesof the Town of Redwood City heretofore adopted pians and <br />specifications for certain work on the County Road:in said Town; and <br />Whereas the Clerk of said Town of Redwood City advertised for bids for doing said work <br />according to said plans and specifications hereinbefore referred to. and now on file in <br />office of said Clerk; <br />And whereas a number of bids were received by said Board of Trustees for doing said <br />work; <br />And whereas the bid of T. 0. Rice was ,accepted for doing said work, and the contract <br />awarded to said T. C. Rice; <br />And whereas it appears to said Board of Trustees that said T. C. Rice made an error in <br />computing his figures for said bid so submitted by him as aforesaid; <br />And whereas it is the desire of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City to <br />act fairly and honestly with all contractors engaged in the public work of said Town; <br />Now therefore be it resolved by the Board -of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City that <br />T. Co Rice be, and he is hereby excused from said contract for said work din the County <br />Road and the said bid of T. C. Rice and the award of said contract by said Board of Trus- <br />tees is hereby set aside and annulled; <br />And be it further resolved that the ceiltified check of T. C. Rice be and the same is <br />hereby ordered returned to said T. 0. Rice; <br />And be it furthsr resolved that the Clerk of the Town of Redwood City be and he is <br />hereby ordered to again advertize for bids for doing said work on the County Road in said <br />Town and the Notice to be printed in the "Times Gazette" of Redwood O1tY• <br />Trustee HYnding, seconded by Trustee Brown, moved to adjourn. <br />Town'Clerk. <br />Motion carried. <br />R <br />0fl1 <br />i <br />
