<br />The meeting was called to order by Town Olerk, G.C.Plump, and the following
<br />Trustees answered to roll call. George A.Deleau, Joseph J.Hahir, .C.J.Hynding,
<br />George A.Merrill and E.H.Sampson.
<br />The Clerk announced that it was in order for the appointment of President of
<br />the Board. Trustee Hynding moved the appointment of Trustee George A.Merrill. as
<br />President of the Board of Trustees. This motion was seconded by Trustee Sampson and carri,d
<br />by the following vote.
<br />Ayes, Trustees, Deleau, Hahir, Hynding and Sampson.
<br />Noes, Trustees, None.
<br />Absent, Trustees, None.
<br />Not voting, Trustee , Geo.A.Merrill.
<br />President Merrill then 'announced the appointment of the following committees.
<br />PUBLIC WORKS Hynding (chairman ), Sampson and Deleau.
<br />FINANOE Deleau (Chairman ), Hynding and Hahir.
<br />PUBLIC UTILITIES HahIr (Chairman)? DeTeau and Sampson.
<br />PUBLIC.HEALTH AND MORALS Sampson (Chairman), Hahir and Hynding.
<br />The Oaths of the newly -elected officers were, on motion of Trustee Sampson, sego
<br />seconded by Trustee Hynding and carried, received and filed.
<br />The oaths of Town Clerk, G.C.Plump and Treasurer, F.K.Townq,, accompanied
<br />by bonds., were, upon motion of Trustee-Hynding, seconded by Trustee Sampson, and carried ,
<br />received and filed.
<br />The following resolution was introduced.by Trustee Hynding.
<br />RESOLUTION.
<br />WHEREAS :
<br />'I- ,cr Atthe last regular session of the Legislature of the Stats of California, the
<br />law was amended making the office of Marshall in cities of the sixth class an appointive
<br />office instead of an elective office; and
<br />WHEREAS:
<br />Redwood City is a City of the sixth class, incorporated, organized and existing
<br />under the laws of the State of Oalifornia; and
<br />WHEREAS:
<br />It is incumbent upon the Boardof Trustees of the Town.of Redwood City to appoint it
<br />a Marshall of and for said Town as provided by law;
<br />Now, therefore, be it resolved,bY the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood 01';Y
<br />that James P.Coleman be, and hereby is, appointed Marshall of 'the Town of Redwood City,
<br />said appointment to take effect immediately.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City at a regular e
<br />meeting of said Board held on the 15th, day of April, 1912, by the following vote,
<br />Ayes, and in favor of the passage of said resolution,
