264 <br />Redwood City,May 2I8t,1917,8 o'clock P.M. <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held. <br />Upon roll call there were present,Trastees,President,E.H.Sampson,Geo.A.Merrill,Geo.W. <br />Me.Hulty,Carl S.Mabie,H.C.Tuchsen,City Clerk W.A.Price. <br />'i <br />Minutes of the regular meeting held May 7th.1917 were read and after corrected to read <br />Finger Lane instead of Finger Creek same were approved as read. <br />City attorney Mansf:Klfi reported that he had a conference with Mr.Blanchard relative to <br />Com�il�fip � • <br />%%1n%Fts� the street work on Main Street,Broadway and E1 Camino Real that is now tied up in Court and <br />ANlI that Mr.Blanchard made the following proposition to the Town of Redwood City relative to <br />same; that if the Board of Trustees would releive them of the contract on the County Road <br />l3rorrn that they would immediately begin work on Main street and Broadway and complete same with <br />i <br />60 all possible.speed,and that in addition that they would permit the E1 Camino Real proceedings <br />j to remain in Court for a final determination of same and would assist in getting said matter <br />settled as soon as possible with the understanding that which ever way the Court decision <br />i went they would not be required to do the'E1 Camino Real job.On motion of Trustee Merrill <br />seconded by Trustee Tucheen the proposition offered by Blanchard and Ehrhart as stated by <br />j the City Attorney be accepted by this Board and the City Attorney take such steps as neoessary <br />j to get the work started. Motion Carried. <br />On motion of Trustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee McNulty the clerk be instructed to <br />,Crvss�nq <br />IS.T,Co write the Southern Pacific Railroad Company that the City is about to improve Broadway from <br />the railroad to the County Road and Main street from the railroad to Five Points, and said <br />Company to be notified to lay at once permanent crossings the full width of the street at <br />Broadway and Main Street,Motion Carried. <br />On motion of Trustee Mabie,seeonded by.Trustee Mc.Nulty that L.Barrish be granted a <br />v�v <br />Junk dealers license providing he moves from his present location with sixty days amd with <br />the understanding that his new location be acceptable to the Board,Motion Carried. <br />The application and petition presented by the Redwood City Athletic Club,was laid over <br />on motion of Trustee Merrill,seconded by Trustee Tuchsen,same to come up for hearing at the <br />regular meeting June 4th.1917. <br />An invitation to the Board from the Gen.Geo.S.Evans Corp to attend the Memorial exercises <br />on May 30th.1917 was on motion of Trustee 'Tachsen,seconded by Trustee Mc.Nulty same be <br />received and filed and the Clerk write thanking them for same,Motion Carried. <br />Communication from Geo.H.Irving in regards to signposts at Broadway and State Highway,was <br />I received and filed. <br />i <br />tisuroNc a Communication from E.B.Fox in regards to renewing the insurance policy o4L the Chemical <br />bry <br />Cholwle,al Engine on 'the basis of � 4250.00 at the rate of IQ % premium was on motion of Trustee Merril L <br />seconded by Trustee Mabie,said policy be renewed,Motion Carried. <br />i <br />jAhi14i ,.oh Application from the Pacific Gas & Eletric Company for permission to contact to two poles, <br />of the City on Cooper Street as per BLUE PRINT # I16 -R -attached was on motion of Trustee <br />I Co Tuehsen,seconded by Trustee Mc.Nulty same be granted.Motion Carried. <br />Application of Mrs.N.L.Miramontes for an increase in salary as Deputy City Clerk and a <br />1 Sa /G h <br />Deputy Tax Collector was on motion of Trustee Tuchaen,seconded by Trustee Mc.Nulty same be <br />granted to 0 75.00 per month commencing June Ist.1917.Motion Carried. <br />On motion of Trustee Tuchsen,seconded by Trustee Mc.NUlty.commencing .June Ist.19149 the <br />dS4/atj4,jpupt.,of Streets. be authorized to pay $ 6.00 per day for two horse team and driver,also all <br />Oity Employees who have been receiving § 2.50 per day same be increased to $ 3.00 per day, <br />?lotion Carried. <br />0 <br />
