<br />ORDINANCE No. 307
<br />An Ordinance emending an Ordinance
<br />mtitled, "Ordinance No. 179, An Or-
<br />.11nance rogulating four -round boxing
<br />,xhibitlons and other boxing contests
<br />and pugilistic contests in the Town of
<br />Redwood Cltv;' passed and adopted on
<br />the 10th dny of July, 1917.
<br />The Board of Trustees of the Town
<br />�f Redwood City do ordain as follows„
<br />to -wit:
<br />Section 1.—Section I of an ordinance
<br />of the Town of Redwood City entitled,
<br />"Ordinance No. 179, An Ordinance regu-
<br />lating four -round boxing exhibitions
<br />and other boxing contests and pugil-
<br />Istic conests In the Town of Red-
<br />wood City;" passed and adopted by the
<br />Board of Trustees of sold Town of
<br />.1edwood City on the 10th day of July,
<br />L917, is hereby amended to read as
<br />;ollows, to -wit:
<br />Section 1.—It Is hereby declared un-
<br />lawful for any Person to engage In a
<br />boxing exhibition or pugilistic contest
<br />of any duration or number of rounds
<br />aIther as contestant, referee, time-
<br />keeper or promoter where any admis-
<br />sion fee is charged to see said boxing
<br />exhibition or pugilistic contest or
<br />where sat(] boxing exhibition or pugil-
<br />istic contest is a Part of any enter-
<br />tainment of any kind to which an ad-
<br />mission fee of any kind is charged
<br />without first securing a Permit to hold
<br />such boxing exhlbltion or pugilistic
<br />contest from the Board of Trustees of
<br />the Town of Redwood City. All appli-
<br />cants for a permit to hold boxing ex-
<br />hibitions or Pugilistic contests must
<br />make application in writing to the
<br />Board of Trustees of the Town of Red-
<br />wood City at leapt seven (7) days be-
<br />fore the date upon which they desire
<br />said application acted upon. Said ap-
<br />'plication shall state the name or names
<br />of all persons Interest in said appli-
<br />cation as promoters, the date of the
<br />contemplated boxing exhibition or
<br />pugilistic contest and building or hall
<br />where said contest Is to be held. The
<br />Board of Trustees shall have the ab-
<br />iolute right to grant or deny any ap-
<br />plication for a Permit hereunder.
<br />Section 2 —All ordinances or Parts of
<br />ordinances in conflict with this ordin.
<br />ance are hereby repealed.
<br />Section 3.—This ordinance shall be
<br />published once In the Times -Gazette,
<br />a weekly newspaper, published, Print -
<br />:d and circulated in said Town of
<br />Redwood City and shall take effect
<br />and be in force thirty (30) days
<br />from and after Its passage,
<br />Introducted this 17th day of May,
<br />1920.
<br />Passed and adopted as an ordinance
<br />of the Town of Redwood City by the.
<br />Board of Trustees of sald Town at a
<br />regular meeting of said Board held on
<br />the 7th day of June, 1920, by the fol-
<br />towlPg vote:
