199 <br />Redwood City,July 19thoI920.8 o'clock P,M. <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees held. <br />Upon roll call there were present; -Trustees President M.E.Ryan,Carl'K.zlabie,H.C.Tuchsen, <br />Geo.WiMcNulty,Geo.A.Kreiss,City Clerk W.A.Price . <br />Minutes of regular meeting held July 6th.1920 were read and on motion of Trustee McNulty, <br />seconded by Trustee Kreiss and carried same be approved as read. <br />U <br />The Shell Company of California submitted to the Board,a price of One Hundred and Twenty <br />five Dollars for one 290 gallon I2 gauge underground tank and one gallon Boyle' Dayton <br />Gasoline pump which has been used by the city for nearly two years,on motion of Trustee <br />Mabie,seconded by Trustee Tuchsen the Town purchase the tank and pump at price.stated, <br />Motion Carried. <br />The following communication was received from the War Department, and on motion of <br />Trustee McNulty, seconded by Trustee Mabie, said communication be referred to the <br />Committee on Public Utilities. <br />First District <br />RIVERS AND HARBORS. <br />m <br />WAR DEPARTMENT, <br />United. States Engineer office <br />401 Customhouse. <br />San Francisco,California <br />The Mayor of Redwood City, July 16,1920. <br />Redwood City,Calif. <br />Sir; <br />The recently enacted River and Harbor bill provides for a new examination <br />of Redwood City Harbor and Creek,California. <br />In this connection Congressman Hersman has suggested that I write to you to obtain <br />information as to the character of the work desired by the people of the locality, and <br />as to the reasons for •thses desires. <br />I would therefore be pleased to hear from you,or from any other person in <br />;our community who .may be interested in this matter,especially from any organized bodies <br />such as Chambers of Commerce,Boards of Trade,etc. <br />The Basis of reports on.preliminary examinations are largely business and <br />commercial and must show in detail all the interests effected; the character of <br />improvements required; and the extent to which the improvements,if made will effect <br />existing or prospective commerce. <br />After obtaining as much information as possible of this preliminary character, <br />I will pay a visit to your community and look the matters over on the ground, and <br />subsequently,if it yppears advisable,hold a public hearing in your city,at which all <br />persons intersted will be invited to submit any data they may desire. <br />Very respectfully, <br />E.Eveleth Winslow, <br />Colonel,Corps of Engineers. <br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company for permission to set poles on <br />Hillview Avenue as Per Blue Print # 397-R was on motion of Trustee Mabie,seconded by <br />Trustee McNulty and carried same be granted. <br />Application of Jos.A.Roza for the Position of night watchman was on motion of Trustee <br />Mabie,seconded by Trustee hreiss,,Jbs.A.Roza be appointed night watchman,Motion Carried. <br />Application of A.D.71alsh for 1, -'ie renweal of Liability Insurance on the Police Auto was <br />on motion of Trustee Mabie,seconded by Trustee Tuchsen same be renewed,Motion Carried. <br />Application of G.Casaretto for permission to hold a 12 o'clock dance on Saturday <br />evening July 24th.1920 was geanted on motion of Trustee Mabie,seconded by Trustee <br />Tuchsen. <br />On motion of Trustee Mabie,sedonded by Trustee Kreiss a warrant in. the amount of w 4750 - <br />Bart payment on Outfall sewer contract be drawn in favor of Dreyfus Bribs.Motion Oarried. <br />
