TO THE HONORABLE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF REDWOOD CITY; The undersigned owners of property fronting upon Finger Avenue in Redwood City, California,while favoring the improvement and madadamizing of said street,object to the character of the improvements now contemplated being mad4thereon, and allege that said Finger Avenue is and will be little used,in comparision rith Edgewood and Arling- ton the., two main thoroughfares, that the) other streets in that vicinity and which have stood up under heavy travel for years past have not the .surfacing and thiukness of crushed rock now contemplated being placed on said Finger Avenue:.;that the surfacing and improving of said street with the contemplated thickness of rokk will cause great expense to the undersigned property owners, a considerable portion of which is entire- ly unnecessary, and that said contemplated improvements,if made,will place a greater burden upon the undersigned property owners than has been placed upon property fronting upon other and more traveled streets in that vicinity; and that said work' can be done much cheaper by private contract. Wherefore,petitioners pray your Honorable Board that the improvement and macadamixing of said Finger Avenue, -be done by private contract and that only such thi-ekness of rock be placed thereon as is necessary, and that laid street improvements be of a character and similar to that made upon other streets in that vicinity.
