M- AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AWN- INGS IN THE TOWN OF BED - WOOD CITY. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City do ordain as follows, to - wit: Section 1. It is hereby declared un- lawful for any person• firm or corpora- tion to construct or erect or cause to be constructed or erected any wooden awn - Ing over or upon any sidewalk or any public street in the Town of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of Cal- ifornia Section 2, It Is hereby declared un- lawful for any person, flrm or corpora- tion to construct, erect or maintain or cause to be constructed, erected or maintained any canvass awning over or upon any sidewalk or any public street In the Town of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of Califor= nla unless such canvass awning and every part thereof Is at least six feet six Inches above the top of the -finished. sidewalk when opened. The protest is based on the following reasons; I, That the road work has been done on Duane Street and is in good condition. 2. Owing to the lack of communication with Wellesley Park, the short distance that Whipple Road is paved and 'the small number of dwellings on Duane Street, the traffic conditions do not justify costly improvements on Duane Street. 3 That bills in excess of p 600.u0 have been charged against this lot for earlier street work a sum that is not a reasonable tax on the small cash value of the land.
